MODELS.COM: "The chill is in the air, and the holidays are on their way, as is made abundantly clear by the October/November issue of American menswear magazine Essential Homme, out this week. Starting with rapper Theophilus London’s cover story shot by Kevin Sinclair (See Management) and styled by Terry Lu, the issue offers a wealth of cozy options as fall turns into winter. Matthew Bell and Florian Luger bring a gritty edge to the season’s military-inspired and industrial pieces in a Markus Ziegler feature, while Victor Norlander demonstrates some urban flair. Jamie Wise and Derek Jaeschke star in a West-Coast take on cooler weather, as Thorben Gartner breathes life into the perennial camel trend and Harvey James takes on houndstooth and high-tech dressing. Interviews with Brunello Cucinelli and the designers behind Rag & Bone, Jimmy Choo, and Isaora help flesh things out, leading up to a handy gift guide to close out the issue. Only fifty-five shopping days left until Christmas!" (October 30, 2014)

THEFASHIONISTO.COM: "City Limits-Photographed by Kevin Sinclair, Victor Nylander graces the pages of Essential Homme’s November 2014 issue. NEXTMANAGEMENT.COM: "No explicit memo on the artist per se exists, but it might as well as this is Theophilus London’s week or possibly even his year. The purple patch Theophilus has enjoyed of late includes the worldwide release of his sophomore album Vibes!, single and music video release of “Tribes,” and now the cover of the latest Essential Homme photographed by Kevin Sinclair. Growing up in New York Theophilus thrived on the sometimes dissonant figure he cut. “I did things criminal — no, I’m kidding, I don’t have a criminal record — and creative everywhere, from playing the most gangster open mic nights in Harlem — where I was the only kid in H&M skinny jeans and everyone else was a thug with a fur jacket and a gun — to performing in New Lots [Brooklyn] for my gay cousins with cool style.” Theophilus has clearly found his feet these days, however, and is the toast of high fashion and popular music. Don’t take this page at face value, though, look to Karl Lagerfeld and Kanye West if you must, those would be the top entries on the memo bearing Theophilus London’s name." (November 6, 2014)

PAPERMAG.COM: "Menswear glossy Essential Homme threw a big bash at the Gilded Lily last night in celebration of their August/September issue and Ja Rule surprised the crowd with a special performance. Playing tons of his early-00s hits, he kept the wildly-dressed crowd on their feet (and behind their smartphone cameras) all during his set. Artist Matt Starr designed a special installation for the space and Mazurbate provided the tunes for the rest of the night." (Sep 5, 2014)

BBOOK.COM: "We arrived at Essential Homme to a mob at the door and the news that nobody was getting in. By some grace of god, or perhaps just friendship with the PR, I managed to get our posse of nine in. However, once we got inside it became clear why the door was closed. The party was so full that despite getting inside there was no way of getting past the crowds of suave dudes." (Sep 7, 2014)

NYMAG.COM: "The prize for most random but awesome throwback celeb, however, goes to Ja Rule at the Essential Hommes party." (Sep 5, 2014)

OBSERVER.COM: "Of all artists, Ja Rule turned a sleepy underground affair into a powerhouse party performing some of his classics. By the end of his set, shoes were off and table dancing ensued." (Sep 5, 2014)

PAPERMAG.COM: "Luxe athleticwear and FKA Twigs-style hair might be buzzing this season but we're calling it now: the winners of fashion week are late-90s/early '00s music stars. Ja Rule (whose comeback we predicted back in July), kickstarted this trend with a performance at Essential Homme's party at the Gilded Lily on Thursday night." "For magazines or brands throwing these parties, booking a throwback artist is a good return on investment, too. They often command more reasonable fees than a pop star or rapper with more current releases and, unlike the up-and-coming artists the fashion world loves to rally behind, these guys actually have an entire set's worth of hits that many of the twenty-and-thirtysomething editors/buyers/designers in the audience all remember and want to vibe out to after guzzling five glasses of champagne." (Sep 8, 2014)

MODELS.COM: "Fresh off an eyecatching redesign, American menswear journal Essential Homme gets a head start on Fall with its new August/September issue, out this week. A grown-up Daniel Radcliffe stares out from the front cover, and the issue is packed with enticing styles for the cold days to come, kicked off by a collections story featuring iconic brands from Louis Vuitton and Hermès to Dior Homme and Lanvin. Designer interviews with Gucci’s Frida Giannini, Gieves & Hawkes’ Jason Basmajian, and rising star Patrik Ervell add some heft, interspersed with a variety of visions for Fall 2014. Mark Cox takes on smooth turtlenecks in an Eighties-inspired story, while the three finalists from the magazine’s casting search with Wilhelmina are dressed up in denim. Philip Witts and Rasmus Hååg—themselves finalists from last year’s VMAN/Ford Models Model Search—are sleek in an all-HUGO story, and Alexander Ferrario and Misa Patinszki take on some of the season’s more daring looks in an autumnal feature. New faces Nick Shaw and McClain Driver, shine in 2 other graphic editorials. Covering everything from sleek suiting to chunky Nineties creepers, the latest Essential Homme proves to be the ultimate resource for the season ahead." (August 14, 2014)

THEFASHIONISTO.COM: "Be Bold-Photographed by Saverio Cardia for the recent issue of Essential Homme, models Misa Patinszki and Alexander Ferrario showcase a selection of desirable fall styles that have in common a bold innovative spirit. Outfitted by Simona Carippo in a wardrobe that highlights some of the biggest trends of the upcoming season, the models enter the studio wearing Prada’s sleek silhouettes, Valentino’s new idea of casual couture, Dolce & Gabbana’s Medieval inspired luxury designs and many more covetable pieces." JUSTJARED.COM: "Daniel Radcliffe is mesmerizing with those eyes on the September 2014 cover of Essential Homme magazine.

Here’s what the 25-year-old What If star had to share with the mag:

On how he picks his roles: “All of the projects I get involved in begin with a fascination with the story. I can’t work within the mindset of ‘Will this script get me further away from Harry Potter?’ or ‘Will this play make people see me differently?’ because I don’t have any control over any of that. All I can do is make the kind of films that I would want to see as an audience member.”

On soulmates: “The idea that there is one person for everyone is one of the most ridiculous things I’ve ever heard. With almost seven billion people around the world, how could that even be possible? [In What If] Wallace has a very idealized version of love that is flawed. For me, love is just about being with somebody that makes you incredibly happy and that you want to spend your time with. Someone that, despite how long any day is, their presence immediately lifts your spirits. I don’t believe in fate or destiny.”

On being friends with a girl he had feelings for: “We both admitted to having a thing for each other, but neither of us did anything about it, which I’m actually very happy about because we are still friends today. But it was something that had to be discussed and acknowledged before we could move on."

MODELS.COM: "In the latest issue of upstart American menswear magazine Essential Homme, editor-in-chief Terry Lu offers up a note of explanation: “The essentials of great fashion are a combination of remaining constant while continuing to change.” To that end, the June/July issue comes with a fresh redesign, from a sharp, sleek new logo to an innovative editorial structure mixing news items with fashion features. Janis Ancens helps kick off the new vision, starring in the summer-ready cover story, shot by Sebastian Sabal-Bruce on a glowing seashore. American Ballet Theater principal Roberto Bollé is captured by AP Kim in his role as the latest brand ambassador for Dolce & Gabbana, and Bruce Pask discusses his plans as the men’s fashion director at Bergdorf Goodman. The other rich editorials offer a celebration of Louis Vuitton’s all-American Spring collection and the season’s most modern sportswear and sexiest swimsuits. The issue closes with a look ahead at Pre-Fall, with desirable designs pointing the way forward." (June 7, 2014)

SWIDE.COM: "Roberto Bolle, the principal dancer of the American Ballet di New York and brand ambassador for Dolce&Gabbana poses in a photo shoot embodying the inspiration of the collection: the Norman Kings of Sicily. He also talks of his Bolle and Friends tour, which has brought ballet back to the mainstream. After doing shows as far flung as Beijing and Venice, Bolle and Friends returns to Italy this summer with 6 dates in some of the most picturesque settings the peninsula has to offer like the Arena of Verona and the Caracalla Baths in Rome.

After receiving the UNESCO award fro Cultural Diversity, Roberto Bolle is letting his dream take further flight fancying a show at Pompeii. That would be something very special indeed. Thinking of his future he would like to return to La Scala in Milan, maybe as a director and continue with his culturally valuable work.

While we wait for Roberto Bolle to hail back to his native land in a series of 6 shows throughout Italy, lets enjoy him as a Normal king in this shoot for Essential Homme USA June 2014 issue, shot by A.P. Kim and styled by Terry Lu, wearing Dolce&Gabbana Fall Winter 2014-15 collection."
